Welcome to the Hie, UAFS’s original social media scavenger hunt. I’ll bet you thought I was never going to let you in on the secret. Well, you can be sure your patience will be rewarded … handsomely, delightfully rewarded.
I’m Riora Nix, and I’ll be your “hostess” for the festivities. Remember my email:
riora.nix@uafs.edu. You’ll be needing it, and I can be a
VERY good friend when the chips are down.
So Here’s the Rough Breakdown:
We’ll vie for the Hie from Monday, October 8, through Friday, October 12. Each day there will be 5 challenges, each bearing a different point value. A few of the challenges involve being out and around on campus, snapping a picture here and there for my amusement, and knowing what the campus has to offer. Most, however, involve only your brain and your computer (or smartphone or whatever communication toy you can’t bear to be without). Afterall, it *is* a social media scavenger hunt, and, mathematically speaking, it’s anyone’s game.
You may do as many or as few of the day’s challenges as you like. There will also be 5 bonus challenges that can be done on any day – to make up any points you might miss throughout the week. (If you impress me with, say, the best team name or your tenacious spirit, you may score additional points. I’m generous like that.) You’ll receive more details regarding points after you register. At the end of the week, I’ll tally the results and the Hie-est point totals win.
TOTALS. That’s right, we will have multiple winners. If you feel savvy enough, you may play as an individual. My first place hero will receive a brand new iPad for their cunning. Other top contenders will receive nice gift cards to the Lions’ Bookstore.
If you prefer strength in numbers, you may play as a group, with up to 5 friends. (Groups of 2 or more are welcome; the maximum number is 6.) The winning group will split a $500 bounty, paid in the form of bookstore gift cards.
All who register receive a badge of merit. All who score at least 3 easy points will receive the official Hie t-shirt, which, I must say, is pretty fantastic. You must be a current student to play.
So be brave, kittens. Show me what you can do.
